The Gems are not all in the same place. In fact, they are scattered throughout all the biomes and are only occasionally found within deposits. Deposits are large standing black-colored rocks around the outskirts of the areas and can be broken using your Royal Pickaxe. If the deposit holds a Gem, you can see the shiny colored jewel sticking out from within the deposit. However, sometimes, they will still be hidden inside and can be found as you begin breaking through the deposit.

How to get Gems in Disney Dreamlight Valley

If you spot a Gem in a deposit, you can collect it by using your pickaxe to break it open. First, make sure your pickaxe is equipped by holding the Right-Trigger or Tab and selecting it on your tool wheel. Then approach the deposit and press X on Xbox and Switch, Square on PlayStation, or M1 on PC, to break it open. It will take a few hits for the deposit to completely break and release the Gem onto the ground for you to grab.

Gems are a great resource that you can use for crafting recipes, gifting to villagers as their favorite gift of the day, or selling for extra Star Coins. They are some of the best items to sell to get Star Coins fast since they can be so valuable. I would suggest stashing some away for gifts or to sell when you need to boost your savings.
