Helldivers 2 Finally Drops Mechs In Explosive Trailer

Mechs were finally revealed during the January 31, 2024 PlayStation State of Play on PlayStation’s YouTube. While it was just a small tease, seeing enemies fleeing from the giant mech and unleashing bullets was extremely satisfying. I’m really hoping I can just stomp on enemies while unloading everything in my mech’s arsenal, too. The downside is the small caveat that mechs won’t be available at launch. While I am a bit disappointed by this, Sony did at least say, “Coming soon after launch,” so hopefully, there won’t be a long wait. Helldivers 2’s combat looks incredibly fun and explosive, so while mechs would be a great addition, I am content to wait. My hope is the extended time before mechs are available means they will feel as good as they did in the original Helldivers, and that we get a good variety. The mech seen is equipped with a mini-gun and what looks to be a missile launcher, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they are customizable.
