The counters we include aren’t synonymous with weaknesses. Sometimes these counters will be mentioned for things other than being the opponent’s weakness. Other examples may include their movesets or the fact that they’re naturally resistant to their opponent. These lists are not ranked from best to worst. While we can provide the best counters to use in any match, there is no guarantee which order they should fall. The effectiveness of each Pokémon largely depends on your play style and battle technique. This being the case, we have instead opted to list the counters alphabetically. Best team setup: There are a few Pokémon types that we recommend adding to your team since they do well against many of the Pokémon in Sierra’s lineup. Round 1 Pokémon

The following list has all the options for this gym leader to use as their first Pokémon.

Poliwag

Type: Water Weak Against: Grass, Electric Resistant Against: Fire, Ice, Steel, Water Notes: Water attacks are ineffective against Grass Pokémon and Grass attacks deal extra damage to Water Pokémon, so you should favor Grass Pokémon against Poliwag.

Round 2 Pokémon

The following list has all the options for this gym leader to use as their second Pokémon.

Exeggutor

Type: Grass, Psychic Weak Against: Bug, Dark, Fire, Flying, Ghost, Ice, Poison Resistant Against: Electric, Fighting, Grass, Ground, Psychic, Water Notes: Both Grass and Psychic are weak against Bug Pokémon, so Bug attacks deal massive damage to Exeggutor. It also deals half damage to Steel, so a Bug/Steel Pokémon with Bug attacks is ideal.

Lapras

Type: Water, Ice Weak Against: Electric, Fighting, Grass, Rock Resistant Against: Water, Ice

Round 3 Pokémon

Houndoom

Type: Dark, Fire Weak Against: Fighting, Ground, Rock, Water Resistant Against: Psychic, Dark, Fire, Ghost, Grass, Ice, Steel Notes: If you do not have any of the Pokémon listed below, we recommend using a Ground or Rock Pokémon against Houndoom since they aren’t weak against most of her other Pokémon.
