How To Increase Maximum Jump Range In Starfield
Maximizing your ship jump range in Starfield
In the simplest terms, you’re going to want to upgrade your Grav Drive to maximize your ship’s range (more below). You can also increase your Astrodynamics skill for a really nice percentage range bonus (15 percent at Rank 1 and a massive 30 percent at Rank 3). If you don’t want to put skill points in yourself, remember Sarah Morgan has Astrodynamics at Rank 4, so alternatively, you can just put her on your ship crew. Returning to Grav Drives, note you can only ever have one per ship, so you’ll need to upgrade rather than add a second. To maximize jump range, the stat you’re looking for is Grav Jump Thrust. This ranges from 12 in the weakest model (the NG150), while I’ve seen a Grav Jump Thrust of 50 on the J-52 Gama Grav Drive. Note that the top drives will also need you to put some skill points into Starship Design to fit them unless you buy a new ship already fitted with this fancy tech. When fitting an improved drive you may find you need to lower your overall mass to make it work, which may mean downgrading or removing heavy parts such as engines and cargo space.
