Certain traits are better at the start of the game but become less effective as you play, so you may want to think about getting rid of them. Removing a trait may require certain tasks to be completed, such as having surgery done or speaking to a religious leader. Keep in mind that in most cases, you cannot replace one trait with another. How to remove and replace traits with console commands in Starfield
If you’re in a particular rush to get rid of a specific trait, there is another way you can get rid of them more quickly, but it will require access to the PC console commands. Xbox players will unfortunately not have access to this menu unless they load their game on a PC. To remove a trait using the console command cheats, open the console command menu with the ‘~’ key on your keyboard and then type the following: player.removeperk [perk ID] To replace a trait using the console command cheats, open the console menu with the ‘~’ key and then type the following: player.addperk [perk ID]

No matter what trait you choose at the start of the game, you’ll always be able to get rid of it later if you no longer feel it’s necessary or just aren’t feeling it anymore. If you have access to the console commands, you’ll even be able to replace it with a different one.
