Monster Hunter Now Special Skill Guide
Once you start to upgrade your weapons, you’ll unlock special Skills associated with them. Find my guide to each Monster Hunter now Special Skill below.
How to use Special Skills in MH Now
To use a Special Skill in Monster Hunter Now you need to do the following: That’s all there is to it. My one piece of advice here is that if you have a particularly tough opponent coming up, use a Paintball to save it for later and then build up your Special Skill gauge by fighting weaker creatures. Once the gauge is full, you can then use the Paintball knowing you’ll have a big first attack to unleash.
All monster Hunter Now weapon Special Skills
No matter which type of the following weapons you build, they will have the same Special Skill. What changes from item to item is the Equipment skills that you get access to by upgrading them.
Bow (Dargon Piercer): A single piercing arrow. Great Sword (True Charged Slash): A slow but devastating slash attack. Hammer (Spinning Bludgeon): A slow but shattering single blow. Light Bowgun (Wyvernblast Counter): A single massive shot. Long Sword (Spirit Helm Breaker): A flying leap for big damage. Sword and Shield (Perfect Rush Combo): A flurry of blows.
All Special Skills do equivalent damage (100 percent at level 1, rising to 110 percent at level 3). Just remember they take a little time, so it’s best to land them after a monster’s special has triggered and from a safe spot.
