Path Of Exile 2 Beta Is Now An Alpha Beta Delayed For Polish

The new beta date for Path of Exile 2 is not yet known even internally; Game Director Jonathan Rogers of Grinding Gear Games is keeping it open-ended, and says it will come later in the year (and he leans toward the last quarter). As for the reason behind the delay, he describes it as a simple issue of underestimating the time required to polish the game. Asked to elaborate, Rogers told us, “Everything will be in the game in June; we just need to work on polish across the board. When developing it, you’ll have the boss in the game and you think it’s done and good, but wait! You discover there’s a bunch of things to change. So we need to reiterate until it’s at a higher level of quality.” In the meantime, a sneak peak at the Ranger class in Path of Exile 2 and the Necropolis league is sure to make the wait easier (or harder, depending how you look at it). As for the alpha, this will likely be for press and content creators only (we’re awaiting confirmation on this). However, you can expect more preview and news coverage of Path of Exile 2 from us ahead of the beta launch. Looking for more Path of Exile content?
