Things To Do Before Leaving Act 1 In Baldur S Gate 3

BG3 Act 1 Checklist

There’s a lot to do in Act One, so this list is broken down based on the location of each event and the order I experienced them in. Keep in mind that different alignments, dialogue choices, and party compositions may change how Act One turns out for you.

Ravaged Beach and Nautiloid Crash Site

Meet and recruit Shadowheart on the beach. Meet and recruit Astarion west of the crashed Nautiloid. Meet and recruit Gale at the Roadside Cliffs waypoint. Meet and recruit Lae’zel north of the crashed Nautiloid; you’ll have to rescue her from Damays and Nymessa.

Emerald Grove

Participate in the goblin battle at the entrance to the grove. Meet and recruit Wyll. Defeat the harpies northeast of the grove. Uncover Kagha’s plotting with the Shadow Druids. Meet Volo for the first time. Meet the Strange Ox for the first time. Discover the Tiefling hideout. Rescue or kill Sazza. Speak with the Bard Alfira and learn an instrument from her. Heal the paralyzed Tiefling. Defeat the bugbear assassin on the hill. After rescuing Halsin: Speak to Rath and enter the Druid vault. After recruiting Karlach: Speak to Dammon and help Karlach.

Dank Crypt

Meet Withers and recruit him to your camp.

Blighted Village

Spare or kill the mother Owlbear in her nest northeast of the Blighted Village. Meet Scratch next to his deceased owner northeast of the Blighted Village. Save Barcus from the windmill. Discover the Necromancy of Thay book. Enter the Whispering Depths through the well. Kill or spare the Ogres. Interrupt the bugbear and her partner. After collecting sussur bark in the Underdark: Finish the Masterwork Weapon at the forge.

Goblin Camp

Save the Owlbear cub. Rescue Volo from the goblins. Meet the priest of Loviatar. Rescue Halsin. Defeat the goblins and all three of their leaders.

The Risen Road

Meet and recruit Karlach. Kill or spare the fake paladins. Find the infected hyenas. Help defeat the Gnolls. Find the missing shipment.

Putrid Bog

Meet Ethel/the Hag at the Riverside Teahouse; she’ll offer to try and remove your tadpole. Rescue Mayrina from the Hag. Help Mayrina resurrect her deceased husband. Meet the monster hunter searching for Astarion.

Waukeen’s Rest

Rescue Benryn from the burning inn. Rescue Counsellor Florick from the burning inn. Find Benryn and Mirileth’s dowry in the barn. Enter the Zhentarim Hideout west of the burning inn. Return the missing shipment. Purchase and free the enslaved artist.

The Underdark

Explore the Selunite outpost. Free the Phalar Aluve sword from the altar, northwest of the Selunite outpost. Explore the Arcane Tower. Restore the power generator and the elevator. Meet Bernard. Get access to the basement. Dig up the Dog Collar north of the tower. Meet the fish people in Festering Cove. Defeat the Spectator. Explore the Myconid Colony. Cure Thulla. Help Omeluum investigate your parasite. Rescue Baelen Bonecloak from the Bibberbang mushrooms. Collect sussur bark for the Masterwork weapon. Side with Sovereign Glut or the Duergar. After killing Nere: Present Nere’s head to Sovereign Glut.

The Grymforge

Return the sergeant’s stolen boots. Rescue the Gnomes enslaved at the Grymforge. Get the bomb from Philomeen. Free Nere and some gnomes from the cave-in. Kill Nere and collect his head for Sovereign Glut. Find the Adamantine Forge. Defeat Grym. Collect mithril and use the forge to make Adamantine gear. Find the cursed monk’s amulet. Enter the Shadow-Cursed Lands; this is the beginning of Act Two, and I recommend exploring the Mountain Pass first.

Mountain Pass

Enter Rosymorn Monastery and the Githyanki creche. Steal a Githyanki egg. Find the Blood of Lathander, a legendary mace. Attempt to have your parasite removed by the Githyanki. Speak to Ch’r’ai W’wargaz.
