What Is The Halo Infinite Player Count

Despite this effort, the game has noticeably failed to live up to past entries, but many are still wondering if Halo Infinite will improve and how many players are still playing.

How many players play Halo Infinite?

As you can see, Halo Infinite lost much of its player base, nearly 98% in July 2022. Looking at Twitch also shows how little players are interested in the game, with only around 400 active watchers when I checked.

Will Halo Infinite get more players?

There is no guarantee Halo Infinite will suddenly get revived and see massive increases in players. Even with multiple updates, the game has low player counts when compared to other shooters. However, with Season 5, fans are hopeful to see a revival and increased player base due to the Flood-based cosmetics, new maps, and new multiplayer modes being added. Why did players stop playing Halo Infinite?

While there is no concrete answer, evidence suggests it largely had to do with how 343 Industries handled monetization, Halo Infinite’s campaign, and its approach to multiplayer could have caused players to fall off. Progression was mostly tied to the battle pass and monetization, with little incentive to play unless you targeted challenges and grinded for cosmetics. The multiplayer also had few new maps and used old maps from previous Halo games. Fan favorite modes were also missing, presumably held back for updates. Many believed the change to free-to-play multiplayer made the game more favorable to microtransactions and removed the core experience of Halo, turning it into a live service game. Finally, the Halo Infinite campaign became an open world rather than the tight level-based campaigns of the past. As a result, many felt the campaign lacked in quality compared to past entries, to which I agree. The open-world experiment left the campaign dull and repetitive, with many assets being nearly the same and long stretches of running from one point to another.
